Hugh Hughes Productions
We began our association with the emerging Welsh artist Hugh Hughes in 2005. Our partnership with Hugh has proved incredibly fruitful for both Hugh and Hoipolloi, and it’s been a great privilege to work with him and witness his unique way of making theatre.
Our first collaboration was a show called Floating, which won a Total Theatre Award at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2006.
Following the success of Floating, we joined forces with the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich to commission Hugh’s second show, Story of a Rabbit. Following previews at the PULSE Festival, Ipswich the show premiered in Edinburgh in August 2007 where it was awarded a Fringe First.
Both Floating and Story of a Rabbit have toured extensively across the UK and visited venues and festivals across the globe. In 2009, the shows will tour to Australia, Singapore and the USA. For the latest tour dates, please click here.
Hugh's latest show is called 360. It’s a solo show which will receive its official premiere during summer 2009. Keep your eyes peeled for tour dates to be announced soon!
Hugh also has an ambitious and brand new large-scale theatre production in the pipeline, called Invisible Town.
