WebplayIn March 2005 we worked with Webplay, an internet-based education programme, to bring our production of My Uncle Arly to schoolchildren in both England and the USA. The project involved primary schoolchildren engaging with the writers, director, actors and designer through the Internet to learn about how a professional theatre production was created. We toured My Uncle Arly to a variety of locations in England and the USA (Los Angeles and New York) where the children were able to see the production before participating in workshops about the show. Afterwards, the children produced their own productions that were later uploaded onto the internet to be viewed by other schools working on the project. “We were delighted to be invited to
be part of the Webplay programme,
which enabled us to introduce My Uncle Arly and the nonsense world
of Edward Lear to a diverse group of children across the UK and
USA. The project is truly unique and a fantastic way for children
to learn about and become involved in the creation of theatre.” To learn more about Webplay and their unique projects, please visit www.webplay.org |
