What a superb start to the year we’ve had at Hoipolloi. We received confirmation from Save the Children that the 2016 tour of The Duke raised a phenomenal £31,025.19 for the Save the Children UK Child Refugee Crisis Appeal.

A massive heartfelt thank you to all our audiences, nearly 5,000 of you that joined us at: Edinburgh’s Pleasance TheatreEveryman TheatreTheatre Royal PlymouthUnicorn TheatreSoho TheatreThe Royal Court Theatre, the Barbican Centre and at Sally Ann’s, Arbury Community Centre and Hot Numbers Coffee in Cambridge, as well as Cambridge Junction for organising the ticket sales for these venues in our home town.

Winter has hit the refugees hard, thousands are sleeping rough in sub-zero temperatures often with nothing to keep them warm but their clothes on their backs. Your generosity, no matter how small has helped. In the current climate it’s important to believe that everyone can make a difference. Collectively we have not only provided help to needy children but have also proved that art can make a difference socially and politically, so thank you!

We’re delighted to have the opportunity to raise the profile and much needed funds for the cause on an international level this year when we take The Duke to Europe and Australia. So if you have friends or family in any of the locations we’re visiting please help us spread the word.

Det Andre Teatret, Oslo, Norway | Thu 23 – Fri 24 Feb 2017

Adelaide Festival – The Riverbank Palais, Adelaide, Australia | Mon 06 – Wed 08 March 2017

There’ll also be the opportunity to catch The Duke in the UK later this year. Some dates are still to being firm up, but we’ll be at the Brighton Dome from Fri 31 Mar – Sat 01 Apr 2017.
